Sheryl M. Colwell, 86, retired Vulcan Chemical employee of 36 years, died Monday, January 15, 2024. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Asbury Church, Graveside service, 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Greenwood Cemetery - Oatville. Sheryl went to grade school in Elsmore, KS and graduated from Climax High School outside of Eureka, KS. Sheryl was a life-long Mason. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was an exceptional gardener. Preceded in death by his parents, James M. and Esther E. Colwell; brother, David Colwell; first wife, Carolyn Winn Colwell. Survived by his wife of 62 years, Alice E. Colwell; daughters, Kimberly Colwell, Karen (Bryan) Anderson, Kay (Paul) Meyer, Kristin (Skip) White; grandchildren, Brian Merchant, Danele Gusse, Mikayla Anderson, Kaleigh (Cole) Kear, Tanner (Shelby) Wulf, Tyler (Piper) White, Kelsi White; 4 great-grandchildren and one on the way; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn Snider, Deborah (Randy) Birk; brother, Larry (Betty) Colwell; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial has been established with: Alzheimer's Association, Central & Western Kansas, 535 West Douglas, Suite 150, Wichita, KS 67213. Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary - West Chapel.
