Evelyn Pauline Johnson, a cherished beacon of light and love in her community, peacefully passed away on January 18, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 95. Born on May 4, 1928, in Dutton, Oklahoma, Evelyn's life journey was marked by her unwavering devotion to family, friends, and the joy she found in the simplest of pleasures.Evelyn, affectionately known to all as simply Evelyn, was the heart of her family. Although preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Johnson, son, Ralph Chambers, and four of her siblings, her legacy of love and laughter lives on through her surviving family. She was a treasured mother to Gary and Bambi Chambers; a doting grandmother to five grandchildren; an adored great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren; and a dear aunt to many nieces and nephews who loved her deeply.Graveside Service will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 31, 2023, at Resthaven Cemetery. Services in care of Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.

Evelyn was my sister in law for several decades. She was a dedicated woman of God. Every conversation we had ended with her reminding me “I’m praying for you, don’t forget to pray for me too “. I will deeply miss her and those prayers but rejoice that she is now in the presence of her Lord Jesus and reunited with my brother.
