Renae Kay (Thome) Werner

Renae Kay (Thome) Werner, 61, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at home. She was born March 20, 1962, in Wichita, KS.
Renae was united in marriage to Timothy John Werner on August 4, 1984. She is survived by husband, Tim; her daughters, Chelsey (Scott) Koehler, Cali (Joel) Lehman, Carol Werner and Josh Palacio; grandchildren, Layne and Everett Koehler; Mae, Cosette and Noelle Lehman; and Julian and Jameson Palacio; siblings, Richard (Gwen) and Randall Thome; along with many relatives, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Renae was a Registered Nurse and worked at Via Christi St. Francis in the orthopedic area as a staff nurse from 1986 through 1990. She also was at Riverside Hospital as a staff nurse in various units from 1990 through 1994; a Total Home Care RN/Case Manager from 1994 through 1995; a Christ Villa Nursing Center PRN staff nurse from 1995 through 1997; a Synergy Home Care patient care coordinator/team leader in 1997; then went to Via Christi Home Health as a RN/Case Manager from 1998 through 2000; finishing her career at American Family Insurance Company as Medical Services Specialist from 2000 through 2012, after which she retired to dedicate her time to her family, which meant everything to her.
Renae is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Rene Jane (Gerber) Thome; brother, Scott Thome; father-in-law, Maurice āMoeā Werner; and others.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6:30 pm, Thursday, February 1, 2024, with the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am, Friday, February 2, 2024, both at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Wichita.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to: Christ the King Catholic Church, 4411 West Maple Street, Wichita, KS 67209. Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary - West Chapel.
The memories of my sweet cousin and friend Renae will live in my heart forever. She will be dearly missed by all those she touched. Love, hugs and prayers Tim, Chelsey, Cali and Carol.
