Jan E. Dent, 71, Kitchen Designer, died Saturday, February 17, 2024. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Wednesday, February 21, 2024; Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm, Thursday, February 22, 2024, both at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Kathryn Johnson. Survived by her husband, Kenneth Dent; step-daughter, Christie (Christian) Nelson of Maize; brother, Steven (Janis) Johnson of Wichita; grandchildren, Caden and Caspen Nelson. A memorial has been established with: Kansas Humane Society, 3133 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219.

Jan and I met in college. We were members of Tri Delta Sorority and she was my pledge mom. We were roommates while attending WSU. She was also the Maid of Honor at my wedding in 1973. She was a special friend and a special lady. I know she will be greatly missed by her friends and family. My sincerest condolences to her loved ones. 💔 Alisa Miller Phillips

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time! We bowled with Jan in the Irvin Dow League! She was a really good bowler but an even better friend! We were so glad that she was able to enjoy the flowers that Terry Stewart and I sent to her! Terry said she smiled when she delivered them! She will be missed!
