Roger Gail Nelson, age 78, of Wichita, Kansas, was called to his eternal life on February 19, 2024, after a life marked by humble service and devotion to his Creator. He was born on April 25, 1945. Roger's life journey started growing up on a farm north of Mullinville, KS. As a son to Minnis and Mary Nelson and a brother to Michael Nelson, all of whom preceded him in death. His 57-year union with his beloved wife, Verna Nelson, was a testament to enduring love and partnership. The legacy of their bond is cherished in the hearts of their children-Steven (Dara) Nelson and their daughter Melissa Nelson. His life's joy was multiplied in his role as a grandfather to Peyton Quandt, Phoenix (Preston) Seiler, Shaylin Nelson, Segan Nelson, and as a great-grandfather to Mila Seiler. A graduate of Mullinville High School, Roger went on to Wichita State University to graduate with a degree in Industrial Engineering in 1971. With a farming background and ability to work with "Nuts & Bolts" his entrepreneur fever kicked in. Nelson, Inc was started in 1983 in the basement of their family home and continues with the next generation to this day. Roger's educational pursuits were but one expression of his lifelong commitment to growth and betterment. Roger's faith was a cornerstone of his existence.
