Chan Thi Bui

Our Beloved Mother Chan Thi Bui, 81 of Wichita Kansas has suddenly passed away on February 13, 2024. Her loss was completely unexpected, and our family is profoundly saddened.
Our Mother was born on August 10,1942 to Bui Van Huy and Vu Thi Cho in the town of Dong Xuyen, Hai Phong, Vietnam. She was one of two children. Bui Thi Le Thu is her sister. Mother had completed little schooling growing up.
Our Mother married Bui Van Kham in 1958, they were blessed with 9 children 4 boys and 5 girls.
Life was tough, but our mother was even tougher. She worked tirelessly, doing whatever she could to make ends meet to raise her children. As a young mother, she was met with tragedy after tragedy, she had to endure the loss of her two beloved children, Bui Van Tuyen & Le Thuy Thi Bui. After the Vietnam War of 1975, America was the future for her family. She worked even harder to send her children one by one across the ocean for a new life. In 1979, our mother was struck with another tragedy, she had to endure the loss of her beloved husband while being pregnant. Just like before, she pulled herself back up and kept living on. She successfully sent all her kids to America except for one who was left in Vietnam. She later joined the rest of her kids in America in 1991. She spent the rest of her life in Wichita, KS. She enjoyed cooking for her kids and playing cards (poker) with them too. She also enjoyed talking with her friends and saying the rosary to Mary. She was a devout Catholic, always reminding her kids to go to Mass and confessions.
In the end our mother left behind 7 Children: Ta Thi Le Thy, Bui Thi Hue, Bui Thi Le Uyen, Bui Danny, Bui Khuong, Bui Huong (Kathy), and her Little Bui Huu Thoi (Tony). 10 Grand Children: My Phuong, Trung, Serena, Simon, Darren, Ethan, Brayden, Kylie, Logan, and Briella.3 Great Grand Children: Tina Uyen My, Gia Bao and Amara.
She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.
We are broken by the unexpected loss of our mother, but she will always live on in our hearts.
