John Schultz

John Walter Schultz, 76, State Farm Insurance Agent, died Wednesday, March 6, 2024. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. John was a man of many interests and experiences. He was a graduate of the University of Kansas. A proud veteran of the Navy, he served aboard the USS Springfield. As a young man, fishing was his favorite activity. He married Marci Overstake of Wichita in 1975 and became an insurance agent for State Farm. It was a career that he enjoyed, especially the ability to help people. During this time, he became a master of smoking meats and grilling. He became a competitor in many BBQ competitions and cook offs. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and fur babies. Preceded in death by parents, John and Mae Schultz and brother, Paul.
