Robert "Bob" D. Fettke

October 20, 1953 ~ March 12, 2024
Robert "Bob" D. Fettke, a retired employee of the Kansas Department of Commerce, was born October 20, 1953 and died March 12, 2024 in Wichita, Kansas. He graduated from Wichita State University in December 1978 with degrees in Education and Business, and he remained a loyal supporter of Shocker basketball and baseball his entire life. While it’s not possible to summarize his life in just a few words, Bob brought so much love and joy to everything he did and everyone he met. He never met a stranger, and he could make friends wherever he went. He loved Jesus, and his faith shone in everything he did, whether he was singing his favorite hymns or making people laugh with a quick joke and a big grin. He was an avid sports fan - from the Shockers to Alabama football to the Chiefs - and he enjoyed sharing that love with his kids, cheering on his daughter’s childhood soccer games and coaching his son’s Special Olympics basketball teams to many victories. He loved dogs, and they loved him back. He and his wife volunteered to transport many rescues in need, and they created a wonderful, loving home for many amazing dogs of their own. Together they also volunteered at the yearly Guadalupe Health Foundation Fundraiser. He loved traveling, being out in the sunshine, going for walks around the lake, and most of all he loved his family, and they love and miss him very much.
