Rodney “Rod” Craig Stewart, 67, was born December 27, 1956 in Wichita, KS to Robert and Madelyn Stewart. He died in his home on March 27, 2024 in Maize, KS.Rod graduated from Circle High School in Towanda, KS in 1975. He went to work at Cessna Aircraft in February 1976 until he retired in February 2016.Rod was a devoted reader of the Wichita Eagle and USA Today. He enjoyed gardening, sharing produce with family and friends. He also loved watching sports on TV and drinking a cold beer. He was a son, brother, uncle and all-around good neighbor.He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Stewart; step-sister, Ruth Gilbert; and nephews, Matthew Sciarrotta and Phillip Creel.He is survived by his mother, Madelyn (Winzer) Stewart; sisters, Pamela (Duane) Winters and Debra Stewart of Wichita; step-mother, Wanda Stewart; step-siblings, Jay (Debbie) Terwort, Susann (Tony) Rister of Texas, Stan Terwort of Kansas, Ken Terwort of Oklahoma; and numerous nieces & nephews.Celebration of Life will be held at a Stewart Family Member's Home, 3036 S. Maize Rd., Wichita, KS on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 5:00 pm. There will be food and beverage served for those that RSVP to 316-461-1724 by June 9.Services in care of Downing & Lahey West Mortuary.
Rod was a great neighbor he really cared for the people around him. His neighborly conversations will be missed and 4th of July in the neighborhood won’t be the same.
