Daniel Anthony Collier

February 10, 2009 ~ June 12, 2024
Daniel Anthony Collier, of Wichita, passed away on June 12th, 2024. He was 15 years old. Daniel was born on February 10th, 2009, to Michael and Nicole Collier in Wichita. He had just finished his 9th grade year at Campus High School in Haysville, Kansas. Playing and watching sports was a huge part of his life, as well as dreaming about all of the cars he wanted when he grew up. Some of his favorite things to collect were die cast cars, shoes, and sports cards. Daniel had aspirations of working for NASA and enjoyed his time outside while he played basketball and rode his bike. In his short life, Daniel learned how to be a hard worker that always pushed himself to be better to reach his goals. Protecting others was one of the things that made him stand out from other teenagers. He loved to spend time with his family and always looked forward to vacations. Daniel will be fiercely missed by his family and friends, and he will always be remembered for his kind heart and goofy personality. He is survived by his parents, Michael and Nicole Collier, two older sisters, Christina (19), Brianna (16), brother, Owen (9); paternal grandparents, Dana and William Collier; maternal grandmother, Debbie Rini; as well as his uncle, James (Mckayla) Rini; aunts, Julie (Mike) Rodriguez, Mary Trenkle, Lisa Rini; and many cousins.
Celebration of Life will be held at Midian Shrine Center, 130 North Topeka Street, Wichita, on June 22nd, 2024 at 10am. To honor Daniel, please wear sports jerseys, Disney or his favorite color purple. Services in care of Downing & Lahey West Mortuary.
My prayers are with you all! I was Danny’s Algebra 1 teacher his freshman year at Campus. I just loved his fun and positive attitude! Unfortunatel, I will be in Mexico and won’t be able to attend his Celebration of Life. He left each of us a better person for having known him! He will be missed!
Each and everyday he would share a good thing at the beginning of class. 99% of them were about either working on cars with his dad or about being excited for the fun family vacations that were being planned. I cherish those memories the most!
This tragedy has been so heartbreaking for all that were blessed to know Danny and know his family. My first memory of Danny is subbing in his kindergarten class. He was full of energy! My last memory was seeing him and his sister Brianna walking around the football stadium at the varsity games. After watching videos that Nicole shared, I will never be able to listen to Sweet Caroline and not think of Danny! I wish I could ease the pain felt by his family. I am so sorry that you have to live on without Danny. He will always be in your hearts.
Soar high and free young man.
