Joe McConnell was a love and he and our mother, Barbara Ritchie, had a very long relationship. They first met because of the Wichita Community Theater and he was her hairdresser for many decades. When she was failing, he would come to her to keep her looking well. I remember her knitting beautiful sweaters for Joe and giving him one every Christmas. I trust that Mom, Mary Jane Teall, and Jean Ann Cusick make up Joe’s welcoming committee. What a wonderful group of people they were. Farewell for now, old friend. Janet Ritchie Smith
Joseph was a wonderful friend and hairdresser to our Mom Bobbie Brane. They were friends for years and he would often join us for family dinners. He was such a sweet man and always had interesting stories. He also had a wicked sense of humor. Rest in peace, Joseph and thank you for being such a dear friend to our Mom!
Joe,how i miss your wonderful haircuts and our funny discussions. I hope you and mom reconnect, she so enjoyed the astrology group. Rest easy friend.
Such a delightful soul! Thanks for the knowledge left to us, Joe
Rest in peace Joseph. Thank you for being so kind to me when my parents were aging and frail. You were such a comfort. I enjoyed the years of great stories of your travels and the political chats. Boy are you missing an interesting election year!
God bless Uncle Joe
It was an honor to take care of our sweet Joseph. He took care of me in different ways when he saw me everyday for his med pass and he never failed to help me feel so cared for. He was the biggest advocate that loved everyone around him and wanted everyone to become their best self no matter what and to this day I am blessed to have learned his life story and laughing with him in the morning and at bedtime over anything. His smile was so contagious that he was one of many to help me embrace my smile again. Thank you Joseph for being a friend to me and I know you’ll be happy with God and finally rest and away from any pain. We all love you now and beyond for years to come. May God bless you and your family.
Dear Joseph, Rest in Peace. You took such wonderful care of my mother, Alice Martin, for five decades and were a friend to our entire family.
