Aubrey Kent McMinimy passed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ, his Savior, on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. He was born November 15, 1938, to Aubrey Marvin McMinimy and Marjorie Esther Bertholf McMinimy. He was the second of three children, a sibling to Carol Corine McMinimy Gow and David Bruce McMinimy. As an adolescent, and into adult life, Kent loved sports, hunting, fishing, woodworking, and cars. Having many uncles, aunts, and cousins, family was integral to Kent's life. Church, Work & Witness trips, and his personal relationship with Jesus Christ were key elements as he journeyed through adult life. Kent graduated from Conway Springs High School in 1957. He continued his education at Wichita Business College, where he received an associate’s degree in business. He began his professional career with Continental Trailways Bus Lines and worked there for 27 years. After Continental Trailways, he moved to Intrust Bank where he worked for 10 additional years. Kent married Joan Kay Stearman on May 2, 1964. That union was blessed with two daughters, Nicole Diane McMinimy Windsor and Kimberly Kay McMinimy Galusha. They lived in Wichita, KS for many years and attended First Church of the Nazarene where they have many friends. Kent is survived by his wife, Joan McMinimy; daughters, Nicole (Mitchell) and Kimberly (Pete); and grandchildren, Lauren, Samuel, Emily, Gabrielle, and Cody. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at First Church of the Nazarene (1400 E. Kellogg Dr.). The interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Wichita Park Cemetery (3424 E. 21st St. N.). Memorials have been established with Living Waters Ministries and First Church of the Nazarene Missions (1400 E. Kellogg Dr., Wichita, KS 67211). Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary - West Chapel.
