Katrina Frances (Bloedel) Alcala, 70, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 23, 2025 after a lifelong struggle with pulmonary disease.
She was born May 1, 1954 in Lawrence, KS to Arden and Etna Bloedel, who precede her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Alcala; daughters, Holly (Branden) Arnold, Monique Alcala; sister, Carol (William) Hornung; brother, Bill (Elin) Bloedel, Jr.; grandchildren, Ethan, Natalie, and Christian Arnold.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at All Saints Catholic Church.
Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary - East Chapel.

I love you Mom. You always loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. You had such a kind heart for animals and had a great devotion to your faith. You told me you planned to read the entire Bible and were working towards that goal. Rest in Peace with Granny and Grandpa.
I have shared a deep friendship with Katie for 65 years. Katie was not always an easy person with whom to spend time but she was always, ALWAYS an easy person to love. In the past 65 years there have been only a handful of times in which we did not spend some Halloween time together, if not in person, then on the phone. We also spent many of her birthdays going to lunch and then shopping or a movie. I will think lovingly of her often but always on October 31 and May 1. I wish her peace and happiness for all eternity.
