Cruz L. Casanova, of Wichita, Kansas, died Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the age of 95 years. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. Rosary is scheduled for 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Funeral service immediately following Rosary at 10:30am, Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Visitation, Rosary and Funeral Service will all be held at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary in Wichita, Kansas. Burial will follow Funeral Service at Calvary Cemetery, 610 South Vassar Street in Wichita, Kansas.
Cruz is preceded in death by his wife, Cayetana "Cay" H. Casanova; father, Joaquin Casanova; mother, Tomasa Casanova; stepmother, Mary Casanova; siblings, Cirilo, Grace, Juanita, Jake, Raymond, Shirley, Mickey and Cheevy. Cruz is survived by his daughter, Margaret "Maggie" M. Casanova of Wichita; grandchildren, Rob Nelson, Julie Nelson Guerrero, Tony Nelson and Jason Nelson; great-grandchildren, Ethan Nelson, Emma Nelson, and Cruz Nelson; siblings, Paul Casanova and Linda Casanova Gassert, both of Wichita Kansas.
