Suzanne Gay Schaper
Suzanne Schaper, 85, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025. She was born in Wichita where she lived most of her life.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, May 29, 2025, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with a graveside service to follow.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James “Jay” Schaper; her parents, John and Irene Molitor; her sister, Judy.
Survivors are her children Julie (David), Joel, Jill (Gary); and grandchildren, Sierra and Colton.
She worked at Via Christi St. Francis hospital and also enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels and The Lord’s Diner in Wichita.
A memorial has been established with The Lord’s Diner, 520 N. Broadway St., Wichita, KS 67214.
Services are in care of Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.

I worked with Suzanne at the Lord’s Diner food truck. She was a pleasure to work with and be around. I am very sorry to hear of her passing. She was a beautiful soul and a very caring person.
