Nancy Lynn Ballinger, 73, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, died Saturday, June 14, 2025. Funeral Service will be at 9:00 am, Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary. In honor of Nancy’s courageous battle with ovarian cancer, the family invites guests to wear teal (clothes or ribbons), the awareness color for ovarian cancer. Nancy was a retired nurse practitioner at ComCare and School Nurse at USD 313, Buhler. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with family. Preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Frieda Lewis; son, Owen Wesley Ballinger; brother, Robert Lewis; brother-in-law, Richard Ballinger; in-laws, Owen and Verneita Ballinger. Survived by her husband, Terry Ballinger; son, Brian (Angela) Ballinger; daughter, Kristen (Geremy) Farha; sister, Carol Lewis; grandchildren, Lauryn Farha, Sydney Farha, Kyndal Farha, Grant Ballinger; sister-in-law, Detha Kemp; brother-in-law, Jim Kemp; numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with: Club Hope Fitness, 11931 W. Central, Wichita, KS 67212; Just Move ICT, 10330 W. Central Ave. #160, Wichita, KS 67212. Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary - West Chapel.

Faith and Terry are pretty close, so I really got to learn about, and appreciate this wonderful family.   2. I attended WSU with Nancy where we both obtained our Master’s in Nursing degrees. We both landed at COMCARE to work with persons with mental illnesses. I always enjoyed working with Nancy. The two of us would often work weekends together at the inpatient hospital (Good Shepherd). Such a beautiful person…inside & out. Tiny but mighty. Rest in paradise, Dear One. Such a good servant. Your work on earth is done.
