William Arthur Bachman II

William Arthur Bachman, II, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on June 29, 2025, at the age of 78. He was born on April 25, 1947, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to William and Mary Bachman.

William, known affectionately as Bill or Butch, was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He shared 55 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Bernardine Bachman. Together they built a large and cherished family that includes their children: Craig (Keri) Bachman, Brian (Kelly) Bachman, Paul (Jennifer) Bachman, Karl Bachman, Jennifer (Cory) Unrein, Eric (Miranda) Bachman, Sarah Bachman, Amanda (Chris) Harrison, Jessica (Jacob) Burrow, and Melanie Elledge.

He was a proud grandfather to Mary, William, Cameron, Ashlyn, Kaeden, Skylar, Kamden, Elizabeth, Taylor, Brittany, Matthew, Abby, Drake, Jason, Mia, Carson, Gibson, Fox, Briley, Alex, Philip, Lily, Sydney, KJ, Ellie, London, Heidi, Katelynn, Charlie, Aiden, and four great-grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Katheryn Kirk and Margaret Bachman; and his son, John Bachman.

He is also remembered by his brothers, Jim (Susan) Bachman, Bob (Sheryl) Bachman, Rick (Carol) Bachman, Ray (CJ) Bachman, and Mark (Teri) Bachman.

Bill never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping hand. His generous spirit touched many lives through his volunteer work as coach for track, basketball, baseball/softball, and volleyball; as a scout leader; track timer; church usher and in numerous other community roles.

A Rosary will be 7:00 pm, Sunday, July 6, 2025, Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am, July 7, 2025, both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
