Jason Edwards age 49, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 6, 2025, surrounded by ĥis loving family. Jason Leroy Edwards was born February 28, 1976, in Independence, Kansas to Steve and Carmen Edwards, and welcomed home by his older sister, Angela and his brother, Hank. Jason grew up in Elk County residing most his adult life until moving along with his wife to Wichita, Kansas.
Jason was a Great Husband, Bonus Dad and Papa J. He was a Wonderful Son, Brother, Uncle, Grandson, Nephew, Cousin, Friend and Community Member. He was a very strong man; a Man of Faith and He had a heart of gold. He was a man full of fun facts, when it came to animals, rocks, insects, reptiles, trees, the stars, the weather, …let’s face it anything nature, he for sure would be your Phone a Friend. He was that baby that Mom got to cuddle, enjoying the comforts of her arms, the warmth of her heart. Looking back it was not very often that you didn’t see him too far away from her lap as a toddler. There was not much that he was not able to figure out and do. Jason, Hank and Dad did many projects over the years that equipped him with the skills to be self-sufficient when being faced with those unexpected breakdowns or household problems. He was a very skilled welder, something that he was very proud of. He was a skilled artist, no canvas was out of his skill house. He was hard working as well as funny, he could wrap you up in a story that would only end in humor. He was caring, willing to help anyone who was in need.
Jason is survived by his wife Melissa Edwards; sons, Nick (Katie) DeFalco, Chris DeFalco, Dominic DeFalco, Sergio DeFalco; his beloved grandchildren, Drake and Ellie DeFalco; his parents, Steve and Carmen Edwards; brother, Hank Edwards; sister, Angela Edwards; brother-in-law, Michael (Graciela) Moreno; sister-in-law, Larrissa (TJ) Mills; nephews, Hunter Edwards and Avery Mills; nieces, Brook Edwards, Jayden Moreno, and Adriana Mills; father-in law, Mike Moreno; mother-in law, Marie Garcia; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jason is also Godfather to Alexis Lynam, Kayla Schulte, and JD Lynam. He is preceded in death by 2 sisters-in-law, his grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.
