Juanita Tomasa Iniguez

Juanita Tomasa Iniguez, 92, retired R.N., housewife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, died Sunday, September 28, 2025.

Rosary will be at 7:00 pm, Thursday, October 2, 2025, Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am, Friday, October 3, 2025, both at St. Jude Catholic Church.

Juanita graduated from Wichita-St. Joseph School of Nursing in 1955 as an R.N. and St. Mary of the Plains College with a BSN in 1983. After retiring in 1995, she became more active in volunteer activities, serving on several committees including: American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, Kansas Family Community Education, Guadalupe Clinic, tutor for Hispanic children, St. Pauls Newman Center and the Newman Book Club. Juanita was a member of Botanica and the Wichita Art Museum. She also did continuing education for nursing and computers at West and East Shepherd’s Centers.

Juanita is preceded in death by parents, Sinforiano and Angela Negrete; husband, James H. Iniguez; siblings, Isabel Negrete, John Negrete, Eleanor Marquez, Benito Negrete, Marie Elena (Lena) Marrs, Pascual (Danny) Negrete, and Lila Ybarra. She is survived by sons, Marcus (Annette) Iniguez, Ramon (Sue) Iniguez; grandchildren, Darius (Aivy) Iniguez, Aja (Dustin) Howerton, Morgan Durham-Iniguez; great grandchildren, Rowan Iniguez, Cambria Iniguez, Evangeline Howerton, Beckett Howerton, and Stellan Howerton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with: Botanica, The Wichita Gardens, 701 Amidon Street, Wichita, KS 67203, Guadalupe Clinic, 940 S. St. Francis, Wichita, KS 67211and St. Jude Catholic Church, 3030 N Amidon, Wichita, KS 67204.
