Donna Jean Stump, 80, was born June 15, 1945, to Al and Minnie Stump. She passed away peacefully at Harry Hynes Hospice on December 13, 2025, surrounded by her family. She married Richard “Dick” Esterline in 1964 and proceeded to have two daughters, whom she adored.
She called Wichita home her entire life, but for the last several years she traveled between Kansas and Idaho to spend time with her daughters and their families.
She was a devout Catholic who cherished her faith, loved her family, and enjoyed life. She was a great cook, loved Mexican food, and could not stand lemon cake or bananas!
One of her greatest joys was being a grandma and was affectionately called “Donut” by her great grandchildren. She would do anything for those she loved – fixing their favorite foods, making Halloween costumes, taking them to mini golf or the movies. She stayed close to her long-distance grandchildren by spending hours on the phone, inventing nonsensical knock-knock jokes to kick off fits of giggles.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Dale and Gary Stump.
She is survived by her daughters, Joan (Dan) Burnham of Rathdrum, ID and Natalie (Jerry) Pool of Wichita; grandchildren, Braden Taylor of Wichita, Emily (Hayden) Amaro of Brooklyn, NY, Alyssa (Tanner) Brock of Gardner, KS, Janelle Burnham of Spokane, WA; bonus grandchildren, Hollie Pool of Dallas, TX, Courtney Purser of El Dorado, KS, Amanda (Andrew) Harris of Clearwater, KS; great-grandchildren, Liam, Jayce, Josie, James, Callen, Eden, and Keller (due in January).
She will be greatly missed by her family & friends.

Sad to hear of Donna’s passing. The Stump family, with her parents Al and Minnie and brothers Gary and Dale were very close to my family growing up and I cherish the many memories of those times. During those times aunts and uncles and cousins were a large part of our lives. Blessings to her today family, knowing she was such an important part of their lives and she will be missed.
