Rita M. Shaw, 78, Retired Executive Assistant, died Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.

Preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Evadna Potter.

Survived by her daughter, Mindi Quitevis; son, Noell Shaw; grandchildren, Taylor (James) Houston, Parker Slaughter, Ashton Quitevis; great-grandchild, Sage Houston; brother, Kenny (Sandie) Potter; sister, Ladonna (Brad) Schraft.

Rita has a special place in her heart for dogs, especially the elderly dogs she adopted. In her memory, memorials have been established with: Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219; Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 28 W. 44th St., Ste. 609, New York, NY 10036.
