In loving memory of Suean Youngberg who passed away on February 14, 2026, in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 83. Born on April 21, 1942, in Chanute, Kansas. Suean was a devoted Catholic whose faith deeply influenced her life and guided her through every stage of her journey.

Suean graduated from Chanute High School with a diploma and earned a cosmetology license from Stewarts Beauty Academy in Topeka, Kansas. Following 10 years of active involvement in the family business, she worked at Northeastern A & M College in Miami, Oklahoma in data processing for 3 years. Suean dedicated 23 years of her life to the University of Central Oklahoma, in Edmond, Oklahoma, serving as an administrative assistant in the Office of Student Affairs. She retired from UCO in 2008. After her retirement, she continued to give back to her community through volunteer work at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Suean was loving and kind, always ready with a smile and a good laugh.  Her greatest joy came from her family, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Suean is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Donald Young and Georgiana Snyder; her son, Patrick Youngberg; and infant children, Kelley and Gary Youngberg; as well as her great-grandchildren, Tucker and Luke Ohl.

She is survived by her children, Rick (Lorraine) Youngberg and Parmalee (Russell)  Engle; and her grandchildren, Chelsea (Ty) Ohl, Blake Youngberg, Preston Engle, Benjamin Engle, and Jackson Engle; along with great-grandchildren, Olivia and Scarlett Ohl. She is also survived by her sister, Jandra (Ronnie) Stephens.

In her spare time, Suean enjoyed bowling, reading, gardening, crocheting and volunteering.  Her hobbies were testament to her vibrant spirit and her commitment to community service.

Suean’s memory will live on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness and generosity. May her legacy of love and service continue to inspire those who knew her.

Vigil service will be held at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the Church of the Resurrection. A Funeral mass celebrating Suean’s life and faith will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the Church of the Resurrection.

Rite of Committal service will be held Friday, February 27, 2026, at 11:00 am at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Chanute, KS.

To honor her, those in attendance feel free to wear colorful clothing attire or an accent. She would love that.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Charities Harbor House, 437 N. Topeka St., Wichita, KS 67202. This is a safe shelter for women and children.
