Janet Carol Aiken

Janet Carol Aiken, 80, Artist, died Saturday, February 21, 2026. Janet was born June 21, 1945, to Doss and Mary Ann Allensworth. She was a graduate of North High School in 1964. Janet was an award winning artist and a member of the Wichita Women Artists and Midwest Artist Association. She loved to paint animals and people. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Haysville and loved the Lord. Janet loved her family very much. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, February 26, 2026, at First Baptist Haysville. Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ann and Doss Allensworth; first husband of 14 years, Walter R. Hanks; second husband of 42 years, C. L. Aiken; and brother, James Clifton Hogwood, IV. She is survived by her children, Kenneth A. Hanks, Kevin M. Hanks, Sr., Katherine I. Miller, Cindy Simon, Sue Patrick, Jennie Lee; 17 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; brothers, Rusty (Pat) Allensworth and Randy Allensworth. A memorial has been established with: Arts Partners, 703 E. Douglas Ave, Unit 250, Wichita, KS 67202. Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary – West Chapel.
