Matilden “Tillie” L. Deenihan, 96, went to be with Our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
Rosary will be at 1:00 pm, Funeral Mass will be at 1:30 pm, Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Church of the Magdalen Catholic Church.
Tillie was born on April 25, 1929. She was a beautiful and kind soul, giving and loving with a quick-witted sense of humor. God blessed her with many artistic talents. There wasn’t a project she couldn’t tackle. A master of gardening, painting, sewing, upholstery, tiling, and cooking, she even dabbled in electrical. She also had her relaxing hobbies – reading, genealogy, and watching television. But her greatest loves were her husband and children, as well as her favorites – her grandchildren (sorry guys). Through all this extracurricular activity she managed to work as a timekeeper. She worked at Boeing, Koch, and NCR to name a few. While raising her five children, she volunteered her time in the Catholic Church. She will be missed greatly by all those who knew and loved her, but we will find comfort in knowing she is with Our Lord and Savior!
Preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Hurd; and all of her siblings, Naomi Hurd, Gene Hurd, Donnie Hurd, Rosco Hurd, Ruth Stowers; husband, John “Jack” Deenihan; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jan Deenihan.
Survived by her children, Pat (Deanna) Deenihan, Kelly Deenihan, Erin (Mark) Daily, Teri (Dean) Irick; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary – East Chapel.
