Laurie Ann Vandewalker, 61, was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was most known for her feisty nature and kind-hearted soul. Quiet, but observant. Fragile, yet unbelievably strong. Died Sunday, March 15, 2026, in the comfort of her own home.
Preceded in death by her parents, Edmond (Ray) and Phyllis McCoy.
Survived by her brothers, Mark (Spouse: Connie) Becker of Georgetown, IL and Chuck Becker of Perkinston, MS; daughters, Amber (Spouse: Jim) Rosenthal of Derby, KS and Charity Mezo of Foster, IN; sons, Aarom “AJ” Mezo of Toluca, IL and Julian Mezo of Florida; grandchildren, Ethan, Kadence, Leighton, Serenity, Damien, Nova, Scott, Bentley, Miley, Kristian, and Dixie; and a cat named Goober.
Laurie was a bartender in Fairfield Bay, AR and dietary aide at the VA Hospital in Danville, IL, where she made many long-life friends.
A memorial is to be announced at a later time, which is to be held in Fairfield Bay, Arkansas where her ashes will be spread to rest along Greers Ferry Lake. This is upon her wishes.
