Teresa Ann Schmidt, 69, loving wife, mother, sister and friend, died Thursday, May 7, 2026. Teresa was a social butterfly who liked flowers and animals, especially her dogs. She was a friend to all.
A Visitation will be held from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm, both on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Teresa is preceded in death by her father, Pedro Madera Escalante; mother, Delilah June Hernadez Carey; sister, Gina Marie Villa; brothers, Gabriel Escalante, and Michael Escalante. She is survived by her husband, David Schmidt; sons, Michael (Jason Schmitt) Escalante of Lake Forest, CA, Daniel Lee Schmidt of Middletown, OH; sisters, Louise Phillips, Sonia Lindsey; brother, Christopher (Terry) Escalante; brother-in-law, Darrell (Vicky) Schmidt of Wichita; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
