Gayla Marie (Mayfield) Rapp passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 14th, 2026, surrounded by family and dear friends. Born on February 4th 1950, in Concordia, Kansas, Gayla lived a life filled with love, generosity, and devotion to those she held close.
Gayla graduated from Notre Dame Catholic High School in Concordia in 1968. Blessed with a beautiful singing voice, she enjoyed theatre during her high school and college years. She attended several colleges before earning her degree and spent much of her career working in property management and property contract law.
Gayla’s greatest joy was her daughter, Deanna, who was truly the love of her life. After Deanna’s passing in 2006 at the age of 33, Gayla carried her memory in her heart every day. She often spoke of looking forward to be reunited with her daughter again.
Gayla was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Etta Mayfield; her brother, David Mayfield; her beloved husband, Bob Rapp; and her daughter, Deanna.
In later years, Gayla found happiness and companionship with Ron Bliss. Ron and his family welcomed her with open arms, bringing love, laughter, and joy into her life.
Gayla is survived by her sister, Jill Ohlman (Gary); her partner, Ron Bliss; her nieces and nephew, Shana Ohlman, Cara Sizemore (Kendall), Evan Ohlman (Kaitlyn), and Jenna Ohlman; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Carter, Christian, Aiden, Emma, Nora, Asher, and Leo.
Known for her generous heart and love of giving to others, Gayla touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort knowing she is at peace, free from pain, and reunited with loved ones gone before her.
