Jason "JL" Kopp

Jason “JL” Kopp, 49, died June 27, 2026.

Jason Laird Kopp was born on September 25, 1976, to Gary Kopp and Carolyn Mishler.

JL loved his family, traveling, music, and football. JL married his wife Jennifer (Jen) Kopp on August 15, 2009. JL and Jen lived in Kansas then moved to Colorado where they liked going to the mountains and watching Denver Broncos. Then JL and Jen moved to New Mexico where they liked to visit Bottomless Lake and Lincoln New Mexico where the Lincoln County War took place. From there they moved to California where JL liked practicing with his band in the studio, singing Karaoke at the local bars, and going to the beach.

JL is survived by his wife, Jennifer Kopp; his mother and stepfather, Carolyn and Charlie Mishler; JL’s sister, Stacey Uncapher, her husband Mike Uncapher, their daughter, Sam Uncapher, their son, Shannon and his wife, Leah Uncapher, and their daughter, Emery Uncapher; JL’s brother, Rob Mishler, and daughter, Angie Mishler; and JL’s sister, Synia Lies, her husband, Simon Lies, their son, Parker Lies and their daughter, Avery Lies.

A private family service will be held.
