Patrosinia “Pat” Martinez Oltmanns, 95, daughter, sister, Registered Nurse, wife, mother, Cub Scout Den mother, homemaker, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Thursday July 23, 2026, in Goddard Kansas.
Visitation will be at 9:30 am, Recitation of the Rosary at 10:00 am, and Funeral Mass at 10:30 am, at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Wichita Kansas on Thursday July 30, 2026.
Pat was born in Little River Kansas on November 21, 1930. She attended the local schools and graduated from Little River High School in 1948. After high school she attended St Rose School of Nursing in Great Bend Kansas and received her Registered Nurse degree in 1951. She worked in many hospitals in western Kansas, Casper and Cheyenne Wyoming, and San Pedro California.
Pat married John Henry Oltmanns on November 10, 1956 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Little River Kansas. A few days after their wedding, they moved to Inglewood California where she went to work at Centinela Hospital. In 1959, the growing family would relocate to San Luis Obispo California where she worked at the California State Polytechnic Campus Health Center.
In 1962, the family relocated to Wichita Kansas. She became a full time mother of a growing family, making sure everyone in the household was ready for the day’s activities that lay ahead.
After the children were out of the house, she traveled around the country attending family reunions, car shows, and Army reunions with her husband John. She also spent many hours in Perpetual Adoration at St Francis and was a member of the parish prayer chain.
She greatly enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren. She always had a much needed treat for them whenever they came for a visit.
Her final two years at Memory Haven were filled with weekly family visits, her love of coloring pictures with markers and daily arts and crafts projects which adorned her room.
Pat’s family wishes to thank the following caregivers for their skilled and compassionate care: Memory Haven at Dove Estates and Ennoble Care Hospice.
Patrosinia is preceded in death by her parents, Gregorio and Placida Gomez Martinez; husband of 68 years, John H. Oltmanns; sons, Robert L. Oltmanns and Steven M. Oltmanns; sisters, Pasquala “Sister Patricia OP” Martinez, Antoina Martinez, and Acensia Martinez.
She is survived by sons; Jerry (Cindy) Oltmanns of Wichita Kansas, John Gregory (Diego Correa-Fernandes) Oltmanns of Chamblee Georgia; daughter, Monica (Harold Fix) Oltmanns of Milford Ohio; brother, John Martinez of McPherson Kansas; grandchildren, John C. (Robyn) Oltmanns, Candice M. (Eric) Urban; great-granddaughter, Addyson K. Oltmanns; great-grandsons, Everett J. Urban, Ayden J. Oltmanns, and Emerson J. Urban, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
