Rita Copp, 84, died July 30, 2026.
Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 5, 2026, Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 6, 2026, both at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
Rita was born July 18, 1942 in El Paso, TX. She is the oldest child of Roselyn Riggan. Rita graduated from Wichita East High School. Rita enjoyed a successful career as a customer service representative for Kansas Gas and Electric/Evergy. Rita’s passions throughout the years were her love for reading books, playing golf and was considered a master bridge player. In her later years Rita enjoyed spending time traveling and attending events, concerts and plays with her grandchildren.
Rita is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Copp; daughter, Brenda Copp-Neppl.
She is survived by her sister, Paula; brothers, Mike and Pat; sons, Jeff (Brandi) Copp, Darren Copp; son-in-law, William “Bill” Neppl; grandchildren, Lauren, Amanda, Ashley, Mason, and Levi; great-grandchild, Kyler.
A memorial has been established with: St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1321 N. Stratford Ln., Wichita, KS 67206.

I worked in Customer Service and in the Billing department at KG&E/Western Resources/Westar with Rita. That was my buddy until she retired. I stopped by the house after she moved from Derby a few times. What a delightful caring person she was.
