Robert Blaire Manning

Robert Blaire Manning, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died on August 8, 2026, in Wichita, KS at 87 years old.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, August 13, 2026, Downing & Lahey West Mortuary.

He was born to Bill S and Beulah Lenore Manning on March 16, 1939, in Green Castle, Missouri. He graduated from Green City high school in 1956. In November 1961, he joined the United States Army and served as a Military Policeman. Eventually he moved to Wichita, Kansas, to work as an avionics technician for Honeywell. He married Sandra Thorpe in 1990, and they were married for 36 years.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Beulah Manning.

He is survived by his wife Sandra: three children Robert B Manning II, Stephanie M Helling and Patrick R Manning, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was a devoted family man who spent his retirement years traveling with his wife and cheering on his grandchildren in all their activities. An avid runner, he completed six marathons over the years and approached life with the same determination and spirit. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A memorial has been established with the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 North Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219.
