Dr. Frank Kelly Galbraith, 80, joined our Lord in Heaven on August 16, 2026, surrounded by family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Newspring Church, Wichita Kansas.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Katherine Kelly Galbraith. He was born and raised in Topeka, Kansas, graduating from Topeka West High School in 1964. He was a High School athlete, participating in wrestling and track. After graduation from Washburn University in 1968, he was accepted to the Illinois School of Podiatric Medicine, in Chicago. He completed his Residency at the Leavenworth Veterans Administration Hospital. Dr. Galbraith established his Wichita Practice in 1975, and with his dedicated staff, enjoyed over 50 years of healing thousands of patients.
Dr. Galbraith served as an Assistant Clinical professor at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. In this role, he provided Residency instruction for hundreds of future Podiatrists, Orthopedic Surgeons, Internal Medicine and Family Practice Physicians. He was recognized for his exceptional abilities to mentor and was selected to the Board of Governors for Surgicare and the Kansas Board of Healing Arts. He served on the Board of Healing Arts for 12 years. He twice received the Via Christi Teacher of the Year award and was awarded Via Christi’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
Frank was active in the community. He was a Member of the Crime Commission and the Old Cowtown Museum Board. He also provided free medical care to many patients in need. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and Midian Shriner for over 25 years; he also belonged to the Midian Shrine Motor Patrol, Ambassadors, and Royal Order of Jesters. A highly accomplished golfer, he and partner (Rob Scholl) won the 2020 and 2023 Wichita Country Club 1900 Golf Tournaments. He had to re-direct his fishing hobby in the early 1990s to hone in on his golf skills.
Frank will be remembered for his love and care for his wife and family. He was a friend to all and would help anyone who asked.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Karen, daughter Jana (Jerry) Truman of Prescott, AZ, grandchildren Jacquelyn Kelly Risnear of Colorado Springs, Michelle (Jennifer) Monger of Utrecht, The Netherlands, great-grandchild, Johnny Risnear; brothers, John (Dana) and Tom (Kristine) of Wichita; sister Susan (Scott) McKenzie of Topeka; several nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, and numerous other family and friends.
A memorial is established with Newspring Church, 12200 E. 21st St. N., Wichita, KS 67206; Harry Hynes Hospice, 929 N. St. Francis, Wichita, KS 67214; and Midian Shrine Plane of Mercy, 130 Topeka St., Wichita, KS 67202.
