Kirby Feryl Kendall, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026, at the age of 66. He was born on June 8, 1960, and leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, stories, and, most of all, people who loved him deeply.

Kirby was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He shared with his wife, Susan, a life filled with family, laughter, adventures, and countless memories. Together, they built a family that was the center of Kirby’s world.

Kirby worked at Pratt Industries/Love Box Company for 35 years, but his greatest accomplishments in life were found in the relationships he built. He was outgoing, generous, social, and never met a stranger. He had a way of knowing everyone—and somehow, everyone seemed to know him. He was a true social butterfly, always ready to talk, tell a story, lend a hand, or make someone laugh. He could be ornery in the best possible way, and his personality was impossible to overlook.

Family was everything to Kirby. He loved being a dad, but becoming a “papa” brought him a whole new kind of joy. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he never missed an opportunity to be there for them.

He will be remembered not only for his outgoing personality and generous heart, but for the way he made people feel. Kirby showed up. He stayed connected. He checked in. He made phone calls, asked questions, told stories, and found reasons to keep the conversation going just a little bit longer. His presence filled a room, and his absence will leave a space that can never truly be filled.

Kirby is survived by his wife, Susan; son, Keaton Kendall and wife, Chandra; daughter, Kylie (Kendall) Rizo and Carlos; grandchildren, Ella, Kohen, Stevie, Ruby, and Rocko; sister, Sherry Bell and husband, Mark; brother, Kelly Kendall and wife, Angie; brother-in-law, David; sister-in-law, Carole and Randy; niece, Lindsey; and nephews, Brock, Blake, and Tanner, along with many other family members and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna; his father, Bill; his sister, Cindy; and his nephew, Taylor.

Kirby’s family takes comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on through the people he loved and the memories he left behind. His laugh, his stories, his ornery personality, his generosity, and his unconditional love for his family will be carried forward by every person fortunate enough to have known him.

And knowing Kirby, he probably already has heaven figured out—heaven hit the jackpot when he walked through those doors.

A Celebration of Life will be held along side his sister, Cynthia Williams, at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Pathway Church, 2001 N. Maize Road, Wichita, Kansas.
