James Perry Cole

James P. “Jim” Cole, 82, passed away surrounded by family on August 27, 2026, after years of battling many health challenges.

Jim was born November 22, 1943, in Hutchinson, Kansas. He retired after 22 years from Bank of America as a Loan/Insurance Manager.  He enjoyed golf, fishing, cruising and stargazing. Jim was truly one of a kind. He was the life of the party, always ready with a joke or a good story. He was affectionately known as “Papa Cole” by his daughter’s friends. Jim never met a stranger. His larger-than-life personality and sense of humor could fill a room, and he had a way of leaving an impression on everyone he met. He lived life fully, laughed often and created countless memories along the way. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jim is survived by his wife of 32 years, Peggy; daughter, Lori Cole; two granddogs; brother, Bruce (Patty) Cole; stepdaughter, Dawn (Gary) Cooper, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Everett and Dr. Nina Cole.

A Celebration of Life will be held September 23^rd at Rolling Hills Country Club from 3:00 – 6:00. At Jim’s request, attire is business casual—no coats or ties.
