Celebrating the life of Cathryn Ann Carrico, affectionately known as Cathy, who was born on July 1, 1944, in Rochester, Michigan.
Cathy left this world on August 30, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and spirited energy, characterized by her generous soul, loving heart, feisty wit, and vigilant presence.
Cathy was a proud Michigan State Spartan who took great pride in her role as an amazing homemaker, always ensuring her family enjoyed healthy meals in a lovingly kept home. Her life was enriched with love when she married her lifelong dance partner, Bruce Merle Carrico, on June 25, 1966, and together they embraced many adventures. As a devout Catholic, Cathy lived a life full of faith and compassion.
Her zest for life was evident in her hobbies. Cathy adored dancing and golfing with Bruce, sailing in the Caribbean, and snow skiing with her friends. She cherished playing games and sharing special moments with her family. In quieter times, she enjoyed games of Freecell, watching game shows, and simply watching the world go by.
Affectionately nicknamed Cathy Zoom Zoom for her energetic spirit and perhaps her lead foot, she brought joy and memorable moments to many through camping, skiing, and logging trips in Colorado. Cathy’s dedication to her family was immense and will forever be cherished in their hearts.
Cathy’s family includes her children Michael Carrico (married to Julie) and Nicolle Herman (married to Andy); her beloved grandchildren, Haleigh, Alex, Draken, and Bryan (married to Tabitha); and her great grandchildren, Kylie and Skylar. She also leaves behind her nieces, Stephanie (married to Greg), and Monica; nephew, John; nieces, Leisa (Brad) and Sutton (Kyle); and sisters-in-law Bernadette (married to Jerry) and Kathy (married to David).
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mary Jane Nettke, her beloved husband Bruce M. Carrico, her brothers Richard and Douglas, and niece Kristen. Her passing marks the end of an era of laughter, love, and spirited generosity, but her legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her. Cathy will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a beacon of love and joy in the lives of her family and friends.

Thank you for being part of my life. I will always be your “sweet cheeks”… except for when I am naughty which then I will be your “Esmerelda”. I will always remember ballet dancing for you and grandpa around your pretty area rug, and having pecan ice cream afterwards. Whenever I skii or sail I will think of you too. I hope you rest wonderfully with grandpa now. I love you.
