Gary Glenn Webb, 84, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on October 7, 2026, peacefully at home, surrounded by his family. Gary was born in Independence, Missouri, the second child of Pearl and Glenn Webb (preceded in death by both). He grew up with his siblings, Jan Wrabel (preceded in death) and Steve Webb and achieved the title of Eagle Scout. The family later moved to Wichita, Kansas where he attended Maize High School. While in high school, Gary met the love of his life, Judy Ross Webb, who would become his wife of 64 years and survives him together with their two daughters, Kim Webb Kane (Tim), and Malia Webb Lindner (Greg). Gary and Judy enriched the lives of their eight grandchildren and their spouses – Rachel Kane Nicholson (Jeremy), Riley Kane, Katie Lindner Bunning (Kagen), Sarah Lindner Schauf (Ryan), AJ Lindner (Beth), Jonn Lindner, Jamie Lindner, and Amanda Lindner. He also greatly enjoyed his seven great grandchildren.

Gary was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the Air Force and was an active member of The American Legion post #406 for many years. He was honored by his grandson, SGT. John Lindner, who followed in his footsteps by enlisting in the United States Army in 2020 and now serves in the 11th Airborne. Gary volunteered his time as a proud member of The Patriot Guard, alongside his daughter, Malia, and many members of his American Legion post, as they stood watch over the funerals of fallen American Soldiers, comforting their families and protecting the dignity of these heroes.

Gary worked for Bearing Distributions until his retirement. Throughout his life, Gary was known to be an avid equestrian and most loved trail rides through the Flint Hills of Kansas with his wife, Judy, and friends. He was also an ATV adventurer and shared this passion with his grandchildren who made many of their most cherished memories with him on these adventures. Gary was a talented Woodworker, and played weekly golf at Sierra Hills with his friends and grandchildren until his death.

His family remembers him best for his contagious laugh that filled a room, his warm hugs, loving encouragement, and unwavering support. Gary was a man of deep faith and led his family by quiet example, instilling the values of compassion, forgiveness, optimism, and perseverance. He was the northern star of our family, our guiding light, and will be so deeply missed as we proudly carry on his legacy.

Gary’s Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026 at 2:00 PM at The Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield, KS.

Guestbook

  1. Judy, Kim, and Lia,

Larry and I are so very sad to hear of Gary’s passing. Gary and Judy were the best neighbors we ever had, and we missed you both so much when you moved away. We have such fond memories of the time we shared as neighbors, and Gary will always be remembered with great affection. Our hearts go out to all of you during this difficult time. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

  2. So sorry to hear Gary has passed. My sincerest condolences to your family. I know he will be greatly missed.
    Laura

  3. I first met Gary 68 years ago, at our high school bus stop. Seems like yesterday, I was new in town & he was the first school mate I met. I was a freshman & he was a year ahead of me, but we hit it off & became great high school friends. Life separated us, but we constantly crossed paths. I have so many memories. He will always be in my heart.

  4. I first met Gary through my brother Rob. I have fond memories of the times our “Car Club|” met in an old barn in Wichita and messed with an old car, trying to make it go.
