DeeDee Marie Kittle, 46, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, who held her close in her final moments. Though her time with us was cut short, her fighting spirit and depth of her love will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

DeeDee was born in Emporia, KS, on November 30, 1979, to Gene and Tamy Pollman. She attended Maize High School before graduating with a Bachelor’s in Family and Human Studies from Kansas State University and a Master’s in Education from Fort Hays State University.

DeeDee was preceded in death by her father, Gene Pollman; maternal grandparents, John and Maribel Ford; paternal grandparents, Leroy and Wanda Pollman; and her aunt, Judy Downs. She is survived by her husband, Jason Kittle; daughter, Haleigh Avila (Alyssa); sons, Jadeon Vermillion (Ashton), Landon Vermillion, and Peyton Vermillion; step-son, Jaxon Kittle; step-daughter, Cami Kittle; granddaughter, Violet Vermillion; mother, Tamy Pollman; many relatives and friends, who will forever be blessed by the love she brought to their lives.

DeeDee was a loving wife to Jason Kittle, whom she shared the last twelve years of her life with. She was a devoted mother and step-mother to Haleigh (Alyssa), Jadeon (Ashton), Landon, Peyton, Jaxon, and Cami. DeeDee would say that her family is her world, and she continued to prioritize their well-being until her very last moments.

DeeDee was a fierce and spirited sports fan who lived for the thrill of game day. Whether she was cheering on her beloved KU Jayhawks or riding high with the Kansas City Chiefs, her team spirit was a force of nature. Win or lose, she wore her loyalty proudly, and her vibrant passion for her teams brought joy to everyone around her.

DeeDee took special joy in educating others, particularly in cooking and baking. She taught Family and Consumer Sciences at Maize South Middle School for eleven years. She was deeply committed to volunteering her time to the Maize School District, also serving as the cheer coach and drama sponsor. Additionally, she taught a hospitality course at Butler County Community College.

DeeDee’s passion for cooking and baking led her to start her own small business. She was fulfilled by witnessing others enjoy whatever she could mix up, whether that be cookies, cake pops, spices, salsa, etc. She took great pride in everything she created.

DeeDee’s strength and resilience inspired everyone around her. She was diagnosed with Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Breast Cancer in August 2021. She never stopped believing or trying additional routes that would improve her health. She went into remission in 2022, however the cancer returned a second and third time. Even after the cancer metastasized, she accepted every single treatment offered. She never stopped fighting.

Visitation will be 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, Friday, November 6, 2026, at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 7, 2026, Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Deedee, I am so grateful for all the memories we shared together… all of our drives to Chi chi to get chips and salsa, stunting with your dad in your front yard and so many more. I am blessed to have known you. You are so loved and will be miss more than you’ll ever know.🫶🏻

  2. Miss you and love you Dee Dee. Thank you for blessing my life with your light. Give your dad a hug for me. ⚾️

  3. Dee Dee was an amazing positive force of nature. I never failed to be amazed at the amount of activity she was able to juggle and seemed to consistently cover all her bases.

  4. She will be missed! My memories of her from high school are of someone who was always outgoing, friendly, and full of life. She loved her family and friends so much. I also remember how kind and friendly her mom and dad always were. It’s heartbreaking that she was taken so young. Sending prayers, love, and comfort to her family during this difficult time. I know she is in heaven, and we will see her again someday. ❤️

  5. My dear friend Dee Dee,
You were so much more than the teacher in the classroom next door. You were a cherished friend who made my days brighter and my life richer. We taught side by side, shared special moments with our families, exercised together, and listened to each other with open hearts. And we laughed—so much, and so often. How lucky I was to share that joy with you.
I miss our conversations, the comfort of knowing you were nearby, and the little everyday moments that meant more than I could have imagined. I have missed them, and I know I will miss them for the rest of my life.
Everything we shared will remain one of my most precious treasures. I will carry your laughter, your friendship, and the love we shared with me always.
You left this world far too soon, my sweet friend. There was still so much life to share. Thank you for being part of mine.
I will miss you always, and I will hold you in my heart forever.
