Allen Clark, Jr., was born on September 12, 1930, to Rita Pratt Clark and Allen Clark in Greenville, Texas. He joined the Lord on November 25, 2024, at the age of 94 in Wichita, Kansas. Allen Clark went to schools in Greenville and Paris, Texas, and Little Rock, Arkansas, graduating from Greenville High School in 1947. After one year at East Texas State College, he received an appointment to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Allen Clark graduated from the Naval Academy in 1952 and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Air Force. He attained Navigator/Bombardier status in B-26 aircraft and served in various locations in the United States until 1956 when he completed his service in the Air Force. In 1956, Allen Clark accepted a position as engineer at Southwestern Bell, currently, AT&T, beginning his career in Dallas, followed by assignments in Houston, New Jersey, and St. Louis, Missouri. After 26 years, finished as Division Manager, Network Engineering. He retired from AT&T in 1982. In retirement, Allen Clark lived in Austin and the Houston, Texas, area, moving to Wichita, Kansas, in 2016. Allen Clark was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Jacqueline Foster Clark in 2003, and a son, Michael Foster Clark in 1960. He is survived by his second wife of 20 years, Jimmye Hulsey Clark, and daughters, Cheryl Mitchell of Rocheport, Missouri, and Lauree Gallion of Chesterfield, Missouri, and Jimmye’s daughter, Pam Harrod of Wichita, Kansas, and six grandchildren and four great-children. A brief military service will be held at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road, St. Louis, Missouri, at 2pm Friday, January 24, 2025.
