Anita Lynn Moore, 71, successful property manager and real estate agent passed away at her home in Wichita, Kansas, on August 29, 2023.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence James “CJ” Harden, and Cora Ann “Cay” Harden of Oakley, Kansas, and a nephew Clarence James “Jay” Harden of Cypress, Texas. Anita is survived by her husband of 26 years, Michael “Mike” Moore of Wichita, her two daughters, Kristen (Michael) Fox of Poolesville, Maryland, and Elizabeth “Libby” Schaible of Phoenix, Arizona, and her 3 grandsons, JP Schaible and Winston and Marlon Fox, plus her children by marriage, Brian Moore (Monica Thompson) of Jacksonville, Fl, Tip (Lindsay) Moore of Charlotte, NC, and Michelle (John) Culley of Sun Prairie, WI, and 10 grandchildren. Anita grew up on a cattle ranch on the Smoky Hill River in Logan County, Kansas. During her early twenties she married her first husband and moved to Waterloo, Belgium, and the coast of France with her oldest daughter for 4 years. Anita spoke fluent French and took classes at the famous Sorbonne University. She traveled extensively throughout Europe before returning to Kansas where she then received a finance degree with a minor in accounting from Wichita State University. After graduation she worked in several different fields until she found her niche in real estate and property management. Anita invested in several apartment buildings which she not only managed but also did the labor to upgrade them. She was an excellent bridge player, followed politics, devoured historical novels and the daily newspapers. She particularly liked completing the NY Times crossword puzzle regularly.
Joint services will be held for Anita and Mike Moore at 10:00 AM on November 11, 2023, at the Downing & Lahey East Mortuary, 6555 E. Central in Wichita, Kansas.
Donations may be made in Anita Moore’s name to the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219.
I wouldn’t have had the best last apartment ever if it weren’t for her love for Laredo (she didn’t rent to dogs, but made an exception just for him). They were best friends since the first moment they met. Rest in paradise Anita.
Good bye, my dear friend. Rest in peace.
