Anna Frelone Applegate Schmidt

Anna Frelone Applegate Schmidt, 85, was born January 21, 1929 to Earl T. Applegate and Enith Warner Applegate in Eureka, Kansas and died October 1, 2014 in Wichita, Kansas. Anna was married to Ellis Cummings and had two children, Vaughn and Ann. They were later divorced. She married Joseph C. Blick and had one child, Nancy. They were later divorced. She later married Daniel J. Schmidt. Anna worked for the Credit Bureau of Wichita for many years before going to work for Bank IV, later known as Bank of America. She retired from Bank of America in 1991. Anna was predeceased by her parents; spouse; brother, Kenneth Applegate; sister, Marie McLaren; son, Vaughn Cummings, and granddaughter, Scarlett Ann Cummings. Survivors: sister, Winoma Fay Berryman of Wichita; daughters, Ann McClaflin (Terry) of Overland Park and Nancy Lugo-Baez (Adan) of Wichita; grandchildren, Elizabeth Hale (Brian) of Hanahan, SC, Valerie Green (Brandon) of Alabaster, AL, Katie McClaflin Van Wagner (Chris) of Overland Park, Cody McClaflin (Natalie) of Denver, NC, Jamie Dunlap (Jason), Sarah Lugo (Eddie) and Christopher Lugo, all of Wichita; great-grandchildren, Annagrace and Brady Hale, Dakota, Audrey and Hailey Green, Aramae, Huxley and Arlo McClaflin Van Wagner, Joslyn Dunlap, Eleanor McClaflin and Sophia Bosley. Rosary, 7 p.m., Monday, October 6; Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 7, both at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Private interment in Eureka Cemetery at a later date.
