Betty Lyon

Lyon, Betty, 93, died Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Funeral Service will be at 11:30 A.M., Saturday, May 9, 2015, at East Heights United Methodist Church. Betty was a graduate of the University of Kansas and a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She was an avid gardener, a member of the Junior League of Wichita, and volunteered for over 20 years at Botanica. Preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Carrie Deal; husband, Philip A. Lyon; sister, Dorothy Harrison. Survived by her daughters, Nancy Kirkendoll (Mike) of Andover, Susie Hill, Sally Mitchell (Mark), Becky Lyon, all of Wichita; son, Phil (Mary) Lyon of Lakewood, CO; grandchildren, Carrie Woods (Cory), Michael Kirkendoll (Mary), Butch Kirkendoll, Matt Kirkendoll, Dan Hill (Leigh), Amy Bishop, Alicia Bodecker (Jeremy), Scott Mitchell, Kelley Mitchell; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces, Ruth Ann Kahlert, Elizabeth Harrison. A memorial has been established with Botanica, 701 Amidon St., Wichita, KS 67203. Downing Lahey Mortuary East.
