June 9, 1958 ~ October 28, 2024
Charles Gerald Hallberg Jr. (known to his family and friends as Charlie) was born to Jerry and Beverly Hallberg, on June 9, 1958, in Walton, New York. He graduated from Wichita North High School in 1976 and then graduated with a B.S. degree in business from Sterling College in 1980. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Lois Faith Bowers on September 20, 1980. Charlie’s passions included playing sports, cheering for the Chiefs and Jayhawks, listening to music, gardening, supporting his grandkids and spending time with his family. Charlie worked as a driver for UPS for 28 years before retiring in 2012 after being diagnosed with Inclusion Body Myositis. Charlie fought bravely for 12 years. Despite his body weakening, he never lost his sense of humor. Throughout his journey, he joked with loved ones and made silly faces with his grandchildren. His ability to make others smile and the joy he gave will be greatly missed. Charlie, aged 66, went to be with his Lord on October 28, 2024. He is survived by his parents, Charles Gerald, Sr., and Beverly Ann Hallberg; wife of 44 years, Lois Faith Hallberg; daughters, Kayleen Hallberg, Jennifer Spiva, Jerrica (Jason) French; sons, Charles Hallberg, Christian (Amy) Hallberg; sisters, Jan Gamber, and Sue Zimmerman, and 6 grandchildren; Ethan, Emersyn, Gracen, Olivia, Judah, and Josiah.
