Jowers, Charlotte D., 58, teacher for the Goddard Interlocal Day School, earned her angels wings after undergoing a courageous battle with cancer. Charlotte was a beloved and amazing teacher of over 20 years who touched the lives of many. Visitation with the family, 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 18; Service, 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 19, both at Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Survivors include her husband, Tom, of Conway Springs; mother, Donna Rohrick, of Des Moines, IA; daughter, Adrian Law; son, Dirk Varner (Paula), both of Wichita; step-daughter, Kami Brady (Andrew), of Kansas City, KS; step-son, Kory Jowers (Sherri), of Hutchinson; brother, John Mason (Judy), of Colorado; sisters, Sharon Hulse (Dave), of El Dorado, KS and Lori Warnke (Russ), of Des Moines, IA; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her step-father, Bob Rohrick. A memorial has been established with the Goddard Interlocal Day School, 401 Industrial Rd, Goddard, KS 67052. Visitation with the family, 7:00-8:30 P.M., Tuesday, October 18, Downing Lahey Mortuary West

  1. I\’m very sorry for your loss of char. I was very sad to find out that she had pass on. I was a home bound student of char\’s. Not very many teacher\’s are like char! if it was not for her I would not have be able to graduate from H.S. We had so manny good times together lots of laugh\’s On days I think I needed! To the family just think of the good time\’s and CRAZY FUNNY STUFF that you had with Char. The world needs more people like her in it!

  2. I will remember Char and her devotion to her students through her many years with the coop. She had a special way with troubled kids.

  4. I came to know Char at Oil Hill Elementary. I remember her great sense of humor and PATIENCE with her LD/BD students. Her classroom was amazing. There was always some cool science investigation going on. She was a great and caring teacher, who will be missed by many. I was blessed to get to know her. I will be praying for all of you.

  5. I will always remember Char as a fighter who fought with dignaty, a sense of humor, hope, and a complete love for her family and friends during this illness. I can only hope to become half of what she showed me about her beautiful self during this fight. I will love her always and forever.
