Houchin, Claude, 83, of Wichita, independent oil operator, died Wednesday, December 3, 2008. Service 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 9, Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Survivors: wife, Ann (Ackerman) Houchin; sons, C. Tusten Houchin and Robert M. Houchin, both of Wichita; grandchildren, Erica Houchin and Arthur Houchin, both of Wichita; brother, Robert Houchin (Betty Lea) of KC, KS; sister, Betty Cortner of KC, KS. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with KU Endowment, Williams Educational Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 928, Lawrence, KS, 66044-0928.
