Clyde E. Cox

Cox, Clyde E., Jr. (Buck), 87, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013. Clyde was born on April 22, 1925 in Wichita to parents, Clyde, Sr. and Gladys (Eaton) Cox. He attended Wichita Schools and graduated from East High. In 1944, he married his beloved high school sweetheart, Glenys (Gifford) and together they shared 65 wonderful years. His wife and children were always most important in his life. He will be deeply missed. Clyde served with the 14th armored division in France and Germany during World War II. In 1946, he joined his father at Cox Produce Company and built that business into a major distributor of wholesale fresh fruits and vegetables. He is preceded in death by his wife, Glenys; parents; two sisters, Gwen and Katheryn; and grandson, Bryan. He is survived by his two daughters, Karen (Farris) Farha of Wichita and Julie (Dick) Brighthaupt of Lees Summit, MO; his son, Mike Cox of Wichita; grandchildren, Stephanie (Ben) Linnebur of Wichita, Staci Buck of Raymore, MO, and Erika (Brad) Sage of Belton, MO; great-grandchildren, Courtney (Cameron) James, Melody Sage, and Isaac Sage; great-great grandchildren, Dakota James and Peyton James.
