Cody Daniel Jonas passed away on June 29, 2024, in his hometown of Wichita, Kansas. Born on April 25, 1985, Cody's life was marked by his infectious laughter, unwavering kindness, and the deep bonds he forged with those around him. He was a joy to his family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.Cody was a graduate of Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School, class of 2003. His professional life as a skilled Glazier took him to various glass companies in Wichita and Kansas City, KS. Cody's craftsmanship was admired by many, and his work ethic was unparalleled and his dedication and attention to detail were evident in every project he undertook. He often lent his talents to side jobs, specializing in concrete work.Throughout his life, Cody was an avid sports enthusiast. He played soccer during his youth, loved golfing and running, often braving the Kansas heat for the sheer joy of the sport. His high school years were marked by a notable achievement- a century bike ride with Team In Training, raising funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, demonstrating early on his altruistic spirit.Cody's greatest joy and proudest title was that of father to his son, Jaxon. Together, they shared countless adventures, from swimming and baseball to bowling and bike rides. Cody was an extraordinary father, devoted to teaching, playing, and simply being present in his time with Jaxon. His love for his son was immeasurable, and the bond they shared was truly special.Family was the cornerstone of Cody's life. He is survived by his loving parents, Michele and JD Hill; his brother, John (Gina) Jonas; his treasured son, Jaxon Jonas; his best friend and Jaxon's mother, Rachael Aguirre; and his grandmother, Bev Jonas. Cody's life was further enriched by his niece, Mary Jonas; nephew, Keiran Solbach; his aunts and uncles, Linda and Fred Moncrief, Stephen Joseph, Terri and John Graham, Vicki and George Castillo, Frank and Ellen Hill, Suzanne Rahaman; and numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Jonas; his aunt, Phyllis Joseph; and his other grandparents.Cody's interactions with the younger members of his family, including Mary, Elena, Emerson, Baylee, Michael, and Patrick, were filled with laughter and fun. He was truly a kid at heart, always ready to play and share in their joy. His thoughtful nature, loving heart, and sense of humor made him a favorite among his family and friends.His faith was a guiding force in his life, with religion and studying the Bible playing an integral role. Cody found solace and strength in his beliefs, which he lived out through his actions and the love he showed to others.Cody's departure from this world leaves behind a void that cannot be filled. He will be remembered as a man who loved deeply, laughed heartily, and lived his life with purpose and joy. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him, and his memory will be treasured in the hearts of his loved ones forever.Cody will be profoundly missed.Memorial Service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday July 13, 2024, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.A memorial has been established in Cody's name with: Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy 1012 14th Street, NW, Suite 500 Washington, DC 20005.
