David "Dave" Reichenberger, 88, farmer, died Sunday, July 7, 2024. Rosary will be at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, July 16, 2024, with Funeral Mass at 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 17, 2024, both at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Andale, KS. Preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse Nicholas and Amelia Marie (Forster) Reichenberger; wife, Mary Jo Reichenberger; sons, Gerard, Gregory and Brian Reichenberger. Survived by his wife, Kathy Reichenberger of Andale, KS; children, Terri (Paul) Ramsey of Andale, KS, Bridget (Tom) Mohr of Andale, KS, Kurt (Cheryl (Molitor)) Reichenberger of Colwich, KS, Brian (deceased) (Lisa (Strunk)) Reichenberger of Haven, KS, Alison (Steve) Heimerman of Colwich, KS, Todd (Deanne (Wetta)) Reichenberger of Silverthorne, CO, Peg (Pat) Meyer of Andale, KS, Kristin (Alex) Williams of Halstead, KS, Jenny (Trent) VanEaton of Little River, KS, Sally (Cory) Dieball of Little River, KS; thirty-six grandchildren; forty-one great grandchildren; brothers, Tom Reichenberger of Andale, KS, Pat Reichenberger of Andale, KS, Mike Reichenberger of Wichita, KS, Sid Reichenberger of Flower Mound, TX; sisters, Phyllis McFadden of Andale, KS and Monica Welch of Bend, OR. As a Kansas farm boy growing up without electricity until after World War II, Dave became active in developing and maintaining electric power to rural Sedgwick County. He was a board member of the Sedgwick County Rural Electric Cooperative for 33 years where he served as president for 10 years and retired in 2007. He served on the State Electric Power Coop for 25 years; president for 4 years. He also represented Kansas on the National Rural Electric Cooperative board for 4 years. He was a dedicated member and leader representing rural Kansas. Dave's priorities in life were faith, family, and farming. All of which he loved. Memorials have been established with: Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S Market, Wichita, KS 67202 and American Heart Association, 5800 Foxridge Drive, Mission, KS 66202. Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary - West Chapel.

  1. Dave is a big reason why we moved to Andale. He drove us through his fields to show us his lots for sale on Busy Bee and shared his knowledge and pride about the community. We were blessed to have Dave as a neighbor and will miss him.
