Don Tindall

Tindall, Murray “Don”, 92, of Wichita, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015. He was born March 3, 1923 to Ashel Rosa Tindall in St. Clair County Missouri. He married Betty Lee Allinson, daughter of Roy Luva Allinson, on April 9, 1944. Don his father worked together on the family farm until 1947 when he and Betty purchased a county store one mile south of the family farm home. Thus began a career in marketing related fields. As he advanced his career opportunities, Don took a position with Derby Refining Company (Colorado Interstate Gas, later Coastal Corp) in 1961 until 1988 when he retired as a Vice President of marketing. Don Betty have lived in Wichita, KS since 1967. Don was an avid golfer, playing until he was 86. A long-time supporter of Wichita State athletics, he enjoyed going to basketball baseball games for many years. Don was a member past president of the Wichita East Lions Club. He Betty made many bus trips, including a very memorable one to New York City just two weeks after 9/11 in which everyone on the bus was gratefully received by the tourist businesses as most tourism had stopped. Don is survived by his wife of nearly 72 years and their son, Gary (Janice) Tindall, grandchildren, Chad Tindall Angela Smith, great-granddaughter, Julia Rose Smith. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Gerald Allinson, sister-in-law, Royline (Keith) Dixon, sisters-in-law Fay Clark Louise Bailey. He is preceded by his brother, Roger (Martha) Tindall, sister-in-law, Evelyn Allinson, brothers-in-law, C.B. Clark Bobby Allinson, sister-in-law, Doris (Paul) Eye, Doriss first husband Logan Newbill, sister-in-law Mary (John) Kopp. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Grace Presbyterian Church, with burial following at Kensington Gardens. A memorial has been established with Alzheimerss Association, 1820 E. Douglas Ave, Wichita, KS, 67214. Downing Lahey Mortuary East.
