Donna Jean Barbour

Barbour, Donna Jean, 85, retired office manager for Drs. Rogers and Duncan, died Saturday, February 17, 2007, in her home surrounded by family. Memorial service 12:30 P.M., Friday, February 23, Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. She attended public schools in Pond Creek, Oklahoma where she graduated in 1939. Donna married Clark Luster in October 1939 and they moved to Ponca City, OK. Their son Richard Luster was born in 1940 and Gary Luster was born in 1945. Clark enlisted in the Army Air Corps that year, but was injured and received a medical discharge. Clark became ill and died in February 1947. After Clarks death, Donna attended Wichita Business School where she graduated in 1948. At that time, she worked for the Wichita Eagle and for the Motor Equipment Company. In 1949, she took a job at the Boeing Company where she met Bill Barbour. They were married in 1951, and their son, Bruce Barbour was born in 1952. In 1959 she began working for Drs. Benton, Rogers and Duncan in Wichita and continued her employment there, retiring after 25 years. Donna is survived by her two brothers: Dick and Dale Gardner; her children; Richard Luster, Gary Luster and Bruce Barbour; her grandchildren: Pam Luster-Rice, Brad Luster, Julie Luster Leahy, Sue Luster, Amy Luster, Jeff Luster, Keri Luster, Michael Barbour and Ben Barbour; her great-grandchildren: Chris Madden, Erin Leahy, Christy Luster, Nicole Renaud, Michelle Rice, Megan Luster, Conor Renaud, Taylor Luster, Payton Luster and Cooper Luster. Bruce, May God Bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. May he give you strength and encourage / enlighten your souls to never forget the good times, the smiles, the joy that your mother brought to each and every person that cross her path.
