Dorothy Lee Elliott passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, December 28, 2025.  Also known as Dot, Dorothy Lee was born in Oklahoma, but spent much of her life in Kansas, with some time of residence in California.  Dot was born on October 11, 1931.  She graduated from Toronto, Kansas High School and moved to Wichita, Kansas.  She married the love of her life, Gene Elliott on October 17, 1953 after Gene’s military service in Korea.  Together they raised four wonderful children.  Dot prized her beautiful family above all else.  She was involved in all of her children’s activities and for years was a Girls Scout Troop Leader for her daughters.  She also held in her heart her deceased relatives, making Memorial Day each year a multiple day event, as she traveled to honor and pray for her relatives and decorate their graves.  Her accomplished professional life took second place to her family; she worked as an Executive Secretary at Gulf Oil in Wichita, and at Swim and Racket Club in California; and Wolf Creak Nuclear Plant in Kansas.  She had many hobbies including drawing and painting and loved singing.  She was a member of the Singing Melodeers in Wichita.  Gene and Dot were happily married for 53 years, until Gene’s death in 2006.

Dot is preceded in death by her parents, Mort and Nell (Clark) Terry, husband, Lawrence Eugene Elliott, brother,  Mort Lester Terry.  She is survived by her four children, Diann (Patty) Elliott of Wichita, Linda (Rick) Chrisman of Montague, California, Shawn (Marie) Elliott of Wichita, and Chris Elliott of Wichita, along with 18 grandchildren, (Megan (Michael) Mixon, Shane (Whitney) Chrisman, Adam Chrisman, Heather Chrisman, Jacob Chrisman, Zach Chrisman, Olivia Chrisman, Sarah (Thomas) Hunt, Katie (Kurt) Heinen, Nellie Elliott, Thomas Elliott, Mary Jane Elliott, Patrick Elliott, Anne (Sean) Cowley, Catherine Elliott, Chrysa (Austin) Kratz, John Kolbe Elliott, and Mary Sophia Elliott) and 15 great grandchildren (Amun Chrisman, Kaimana Chrisman, Theo Chrisman, Peyton Chrisman, Maylee Mixon, Mason Mixon, Cecilia Hunt, Monica Hunt, Lucy Hunt, Gerard Hunt, Thaddeus Hunt, Millie Heinen, Alex Heinen, Gabriel Heinen and Genevive Cowley).
